The Qp3 is the indicator, made in QBerg, to measure the flyer visibility of any analysis element: a Product Family, a Brand, a Model/Reference, a Segment, etc.
How does Qp3 work?
The Qp3 is basically a number which, for each reference in promotion, is calculated daily by taking into account the following parameters:
- Number of stores participating to the flyer;
- Duration of the promo: the first fifteen days are worth 1, after the fifteenth day, a weight damping coefficient intervenes;
- Photo weight: if the product is the only one in the photo, it will weigh 1, if it is one of n products, it will weigh 1 / n.
The resulting number represents the visibility of a certain product in promotion: adding all the products of a certain Family (or Brand, or Manufacturer, or Retailer, etc.) we obtain the total Qp3 of the element we are considering. At this point, dividing this number by the total Qp3 of the universe of the analysis, we obtain the percentage representing the element’s Qp3 share.
And what is Qp4?
Qp4 is the “weighted” measure compared to Qp3.
For all those domains for which we have the possibility to integrate the stores’sell-out potential (as in the case of the integration with IRI’s Top Trade), the Qp4 measure will be available, differing from Qp3 as each store is not worth 1 in the calculation, but its sell-out potential value.
We can also see the comparison between Quota Qp3 and Quota Qp4 as a comparison between a “Numeric promo visibility share” and a “Weighted promo visibility share”.
